With 199 Queens foreclosure listings scheduled for auction for the first time in July 2009, the borough comprised 63% of the new foreclosures in New York City. Although the current number is down 13% from June 2009 (229), Queens continues to have the highest foreclosure rate among the NYC boroughs with one in every 3,894 homes scheduled for auction.
