The total number of residential pre-foreclosure filings in New York City (all 5 boroughs) have jumped 242% in Q4 2009 (5,230) compared to the same quarter last year (1,530) and are 28% higher than in Q4 2007 (3,758).  By the number of filings, Queens was on top in Q4 2009 with 2,109 lis pendens filed followed by Brooklyn with 1,638. (In this study we counted all filings, so there can be multiple per property.)
