<p>There were 207 new scheduled foreclosure auctions in NYC in Q3 2011. The current number is down 33% compared to the previous quarter and down 69% compared to Q3 2010. Both Brooklyn and Manhattan recorded a 45% decrease over Q2 2011, <a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/info/Foreclosures/NY/Queens/" title="Queens Foreclosures" target="_blank">Queens foreclosures</a> were down 28%, Bronx down 26%, while <a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/info/Foreclosures/NY/Staten-Island/" title="Staten Island Foreclosures" target="_blank">Staten Island foreclosures</a> remained level. Co-op foreclosures continued to comprise over 50% of the total number of first time foreclosures in NYC, however they recorded a 52% drop over Q2 2011.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="justify">In October 2010, the number of first-time scheduled <a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/text/infopages/New-York-City-Foreclosures.html" target="_blank">foreclosure auctions</a> (247) in New York City (all boroughs) decreased 21% compared to the same month in 2009. However, this number represents an increase of 16% compared to the previous month, September 2010. Scheduled auctions for coop units registered the biggest change, jumping 122% over September 2010, from 23 to 51 scheduled auctions.</p>

The total number of new scheduled foreclosure auctions in New York City (all boroughs) registered a slight decrease of 1% compared to the previous quarter of the current year.</p>
<p align="justify">The top 8 zip codes for new scheduled foreclosure auctions were all in Queens, with the first two zip codes both in District 12 (Jamaica, South Jamaica, Hollis, St. Albans).</p>

<p>Summary:<br />
*New <a href="http://propertyshark.com/mason/Foreclosures/" title="New York City Foreclosures" target="_blank">foreclosures in New York City</a> (892) down 7% compared to Q2 2008 (962) and up 3% over Q1 2009 (869).<br />
*Compared to Q2 2008, new foreclosures were down 57% in  Brooklyn, down 39% in Manhattan and down 5% in The Bronx and Staten Island. Queens (up 9%) was the only borough recording an increase over the same time period.<br />
*Compared to Q1 2009, new foreclosures dropped by 26% in the Bronx and decreased by 17% in Staten Island. Brooklyn recorded the highest increase, going up 92%, while foreclosures in Manhattan went up 35%, and Queens saw a 5% increase in new foreclosures.<br />
*Queens had the highest rate of foreclosures per household in Q2 2009, with one in every 1,270 homes scheduled for auction, followed by Staten Island with one in every 1,435 homes scheduled for auction. The rate in Manhattan was the lowest, with one in every 31,826 homes scheduled for auction.<br />
*Queens accounted for fourteen of the fifteen zip codes with the highest number of new foreclosures in Q2 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We just recently released the April 2009 Foreclosure Report for New York City. and here are the key findings:<br />
-<a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/Foreclosures/new_york/" title="New York City Foreclosures" target="_blank">New York City foreclosures</a> in the five  boroughs decreased 18% since March 2009 and were down 20% from April 2008.<br />
-<a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/text/infopages/Queens-Foreclosures.html" title="Queens Foreclosures">Queens</a> continues to have the highest number of foreclosures among the five boroughs, although the 172 new foreclosures scheduled in April 2009 represent a 23% drop from March 2009 and an 11% decrease from April 2008 numbers.<br />
-<a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/text/infopages/Staten-Island-Foreclosures.html" title="Staten Island Foreclosures">Staten Island</a> had 47 new foreclosures, which is 15% higher than in March 2009 and 4% higher than April 2008.<br />
-New foreclosures in the Bronx totaled 23, decreasing 44% from March 2009, but rising 10% over April 2008.<br />
-In <a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/text/infopages/Brooklyn-Foreclosures.html" title="Brooklyn Foreclosures">Brooklyn</a>, new foreclosures remained level in April 2009 compared to March 2009 and were down 76% from April 2008.<br />
-There were 8 new scheduled foreclosure auctions in <a href="http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/text/infopages/Manhattan-Foreclosures.html" title="Manhattan Foreclosures">Manhattan</a> in April 2009, 47% less than in April 2008.</p>
