At the top of the list were the Upper East Side with a total of 202 sales and the Upper West Side with 139 sales.  Next was Midtown East with 64 transactions, the West Village with 52 and Chelsea & Flatiron with 44.

Soho & Tribeca had the highest median sale price ($1,975,000), followed by Midtown with a median sale price of  $970,000 and the Upper West Side at $860,000.

For this comparison, there were examined properties that sold from March 2009 to May 2009 and compared to properties in the same neighborhood that are currently listed for sale.
