{"id":16386,"date":"2015-06-03T10:17:24","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T14:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/?p=16386"},"modified":"2017-02-14T05:07:10","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T09:07:10","slug":"americas-best-cities-for-religion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/2015\/06\/03\/americas-best-cities-for-religion\/","title":{"rendered":"America&#8217;s Best Cities for Religion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you think religion, which U.S. city first comes to mind?<\/p>\n<p>While we know that a city with many places of worship doesn\u2019t necessarily become\u00a0a \u201creligious city,\u201d\u00a0we were still curious to find\u00a0<strong>which of the largest metropolises have\u00a0the most religious venues per population density<\/strong>.\u00a0For this, we looked into our database of over 18 million properties and, for the cities we took into account, we counted the properties which are considered \u201cfor religious use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong>: If you thought one of the Bible Belt\u00a0locales\u00a0made it to the\u00a0#1 spot, you\u2019re miles\u00a0away from the truth. The highest on the list, as you can see in the slideshow below, is <strong>Indianapolis, IN with one religious venue for every 289 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2<\/strong>\u00a0in the list is\u00a0<strong><a title=\"Seattle property data\" href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/wa\/King-County\/Property-Search\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle, WA<\/a> with one religious place\u00a0for every 481 people<\/strong>. You\u2019re probably not that\u00a0surprised to see\u00a0this, but if you take\u00a0a look back at our list you\u2019ll see\u00a0that 3\u00a0of these cities also rank quite high in terms of numbers\u00a0of religious venues per population density.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle was already mentioned above, but <a title=\"San Francisco property search\" href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/ca\/San-Francisco-County\/Property-Search\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco<\/a> and Phoenix are also interesting cases.<\/p>\n<p>In the Phoenix Metropolitan area, 26% of the population say they are not affiliated to any organized religion; still, there is one place of worship\u00a0for as few as\u00a01,300 people.
