Some of the companies making the largest impact are Amazon, Google, Facebook, Adobe, and LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Amazon\"><\/span>Amazon <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nFebruary, Amazon walked away from plans to build its second corporate\nheadquarters in Long Island City, Queens. The e-commerce behemoth faced\nbacklash from those who claimed the company did not deserve the nearly $3\nbillion in government incentives it would have received had it followed through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Amazon is back with a new lease on the West Side of Manhattan. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/amazon-doubles-down-on-nycs-hudson-yards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reported to open in 2021<\/a>, Amazon will open a new 335,408-square-foot office in SL Green\u2019s 410 Tenth Avenue, which will house more than 1,500 employees from Amazon\u2019s consumer and advertising teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe plan to continue to hire and grow organically across our 18 tech hubs, including New York City,\u201d an Amazon spokesperson stated in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/12\/06\/nyregion\/amazon-hudson-yards.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amazon\nhas already leased 360,000 square feet of space across the street from this new\nsite at 5 Manhattan West. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Google\"><\/span>Google <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The tech giant announced it will occupy <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/google-grows-manhattan-footprint-with-280-ksf-lease\/\" target=\"_blank\">1.7 million square feet<\/a> across three locations in Hudson Square to create \u201cGoogle Hudson Square\u201d. The $1 billion expansion includes two buildings located at 315 and 345 Hudson Street with more office space next to 550 Washington Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen\nwe came to New York City almost two decades ago, it was our first office outside\nof California. It\u2019s now home to more than 7,000 employees, speaking 50\nlanguages, working on a broad range of teams including Search, Ads, Maps,\nYouTube, Cloud, Technical Infrastructure, Sales, Partnerships and Research,\u201d\nRuth Porat, SVP and CFO at Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\n2018, Google also announced a $2.4 billion purchase of the Manhattan Chelsea\nMarket and also shared plans to lease additional space at Pier 57. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Facebook\"><\/span>Facebook <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Hudson Yards certainly is a popular spot for the world\u2019s tech elite. Social media titan Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/facebook-leases-1-5-msf-at-new-york-citys-hudson-yards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">recently leased 1.5 million square feet<\/a> across three buildings. This includes roughly 1.2 million square feet at 50 Hudson Yards, 265,000 square feet at 30 Hudson Yards and 57,000 square feet at 55 Hudson Yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-11-14\/facebook-signs-lease-at-hudson-yards-as-it-expands-in-new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">reports from Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cThe lease is one of the biggest-ever real estate transactions for Facebook, which opened its first New York offices in 2007, the company said in a statement. Employees will start moving to Hudson Yards in 2020, but it hasn\u2019t been determined what teams will work in the new offices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Adobe\"><\/span>Adobe<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Software firm Adobe has renewed its lease at the 1540 Broadway office tower, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/adobe-inc-quadruples-manhattan-lease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">quadrupling its space to 109,296 square feet<\/a>. Adobe already leases the 17th floor and will expand across the 18th, 19th and 20th floors of the skyscraper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/new-york\/news\/office\/adobe-inks-massive-expansion-at-times-square-building-101276\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">reportedly<\/a> for 10 years and rents were not disclosed for this EDGE Fund Advisors-owned building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"LinkedIn\"><\/span>LinkedIn<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn took an additional three and a half floors at one of Manhattan\u2019s most iconic buildings, the Empire State Building.
