The average number of months it took for a delinquent mortgage to reach the final stage of the foreclosure process, that is to be scheduled for auction, was 24 in 2011. By comparison,\u00a0 the average number of months was 12 in 2006 and 2007, and 13 in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The value\u00a0 ranged between 20 months in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/Manhattan\/Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manhattan<\/a> and 22 in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/Queens\/Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Queens<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/Staten-Island\/Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Staten Island<\/a> to 27 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/Bronx\/Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Bronx<\/a> and 29 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/Brooklyn\/Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5803\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2011\/07\/Foreclosure-Process-Length-NYC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5803\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5803 \" title=\"Foreclosure-Process-Length-NYC\" src=\"http:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2011\/07\/Foreclosure-Process-Length-NYC.jpg\" alt=\"Chart: Foreclosure Process Length NYC\" width=\"390\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2011\/07\/Foreclosure-Process-Length-NYC.jpg 488w, https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2011\/07\/Foreclosure-Process-Length-NYC.jpg?resize=300,183 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5803\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Foreclosure Process Length in NY<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The same study showed that the percentage of properties with a delinquent mortgage that reached the final stage of the foreclosure process seems to have decreased in the past couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>20% of all properties that were hit in 2006 with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/mason\/NY\/New-York-City\/Pre-Foreclosures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lis pendens<\/a> were later scheduled for auction.
