Building Description

Designated an official landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, the office and retail building known as Lever House is located in Midtown Manhattan and was completed in 1952. Its known for its famous facade of blue-green glass and stainless steel. It was one of the first office buildings in the U.S. designed with an International Style glass-wall. The building is made up of two intersecting structures and a two-story block with an open court on the 21st story.

On the ground floor, tenants enjoy a large, open plaza that opens into the lobby and protects the lobby from the hustle and bustle of pedestrian traffic, which results in a serene, quiet experience. Most of the 21 floors feature large, open areas with numerous individual offices scattered throughout. The service cores are located on the western end. The E and M subway lines are less than 300 feet away and the Museum of Modern Art is nearby.
