Black Dot is a culturally responsive community focused on connecting entrepreneurs, creatives, and technologists of African descent.
Black Dot start in 2015 as a project from Hack the CD. The mission was to provide a safe space for Entrepreneurs of the African Diaspora to be able to launch and grow their businesses as well as network and create partnerships with one another. The first two years were spent at the iconic corner of 23rd and union located in Seattle Washington. Upon Discriminatory practice by the landlord,, Black Dot was forced to move to 16th and Jackson where it currently resides. The current space is a bigger location and provides more resources than the previous space so the move ended up being for the best. Future plans for Black Dot include expanding and relocating to the fire station building on 23rd and Yesler where Black Dot can provide more resources for it's members and the community.
We offer a combination of private offices and shared work spaces, available on a month to month basis. Our space features creative communal areas, commercial grade IT and business services, and organic refreshment options.
Our spaces will serve as a form for intellectual and cultural discovery. From curated panels and distinguished guest speakers to cross-industry professional networking events, we will help create opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Black Dot provides technical training, professional development and a comprehensive launch curriculum for start-ups. We pride ourselves on curating a culturally resonant and inclusive environment.
