Building Description
The glitzy 48-story tower at 10 East 29th Street began life in 1999 as the Madison Belvedere. Rose Associates, founded by David and Samuel Rose in 1928, purchased a convent on this site for $11 million to develop the mid-block tower with 404 apartments. Schuman Lichtenstein Claman & Efron designed the modernist building with a golden mansard roof and broad-shouldered profile. Three-sided balconies with city views begin above the 16th floor. The property has since been sold and is now known as Instrata NoMad, in concert with the rebranded neighborhood of North of Madison Square.
