Building Description

Made notorious by one-time resident and music mogul Jay-Z, 101 Nostrand Avenue is better known as the Marcy Projects. This New York City Housing Authority complex is located in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, and was named after lawyer and solider William L. Marcy. The complex comprises 27 six-story buildings totaling 1,300 residential units. The 780,000-square-foot development opened in 1962, and is bounded by Myrtle, Flushing, and Marcy avenues. The famous Marcy's Neighborhood Garden was ranked third in the city in 2008.

101 Nostrand Avenue is in School District 14, zoned for P.S. 297 Abraham Stockton. Other nearby public schools include P.S. 368 and the Academy of Arts and Letters. Marcy Avenue and Myrtle Avenue station is just steps from the building. It offers access to the G train, with the M line just a short walk away.
