Building Description

The Downtown by Starck Building at 15 Broad St was originally built in 1928 for the Equitable Trust Company and at that time was known as the Equitable Trust Building. In 2003 the building was purchased and remodeled as luxury condominiums. French designer Phillipe Starck was brought on board to design the condominiums along with the architect. In 2003, 15 Broad Street joined a number of other buildings being converted to residential spaces in the Financial District and is now a residential and commercial condominium. The 42-story building has 327 residential units. The building includes a rooftop garden with a children's pool and a full time doorman. The rooftop terrace has views of the New York Stock Exchange and the lobby features a 1,900-piece Louis XV chandelier originally installed in the main banking hall of 23 Wall Street.

J.H.S 104 Simon Baruch Middle School is 2.5 miles away from The Downtown. Millennium High School is a tenth of a mile away from The Downtown. The J-Z line has a station right outside the building, and the 4-5 and 2-3 lines also have stations a few steps away
