Building Description
The New York Housing Authority constructed the Marlboro Houses at 2295 West 11 Street in 1958. The complex offers 1,765 apartments across 28 mid-rise brick towers in Brooklyn's Gravesend neighborhood. Covering 25 acres, the property also includes the Marlboro Playground ? complete with basketball and handball courts. In 2016, Marlboro Houses received $3 million in state funding to upgrade outdoor areas, as well as kitchen appliances across all units.
The Marlboro Houses are part of New York City School District 21 and John Dewey High School is directly across Avenue X. P.S. 212, The Brooklyn School of Inquiry, Yeshival Darchei Eres, I.S. 281, Kingsborough Early College School, Coney Island Preparatory Charter School, Yeshivat Magen Abraham and the High School of Sports Management are also close by. 86th Street is a hub of commercial activity near the apartments with easily accessible bus routes. The 86th Street subway station and the N line are just steps away, while the F train can be boarded a few blocks away.
