Building Description

Real Good Construction company began developing this former swampland in Queens in the 1920s. The residential area was named Rego Park, a portmanteau of the developer. Apartment buildings became commonplace and twin brick towers were constructed at 98-01 67 Avenue in 1960. The elegant residences adopted the European-inspired names of Brussels and Marseilles. Both buildings offer recessed balconies, but the Brussels offers some corner open-air terraces as well. Each 13-story tower has a central laundry room. The 286 units in the Brussels and 181 apartments in the Marseilles are accessed by elevators and doormen are on duty in the lobby. The court between the buildings is landscaped and parking is available onsite.

Most of the streets surrounding 98-01 67 Avenue are residential, but shopping is convenient at the four-story Rego Park Center dominated by big box stores and the Queens Center Mall, the borough's largest shopping destination. Local and express buses are handy, and the E, M, or R trains are quickly boarded for the 20-minute ride to Manhattan. Located in School District 28, 98-01 67 Avenue is zoned for P.S. 139, J.H.S. 190, and Queens Metropolitan High School. Forest Hills Montessori School, Midrash L'Man Achai, and Central Queens Academy Charter School are the nearest private options.
