Building Description

Formerly known as the Western Union Building, 60 Hudson Street is a commercial building in the TriBeCa area of Manhattan that stands 371 feet tall and boasts 24 stories. Construction on this art deco skyscraper began in 1928 and concluded in 1930, with the architecture the work of Voorhees, Gmelin & Walker. German expressionism is at play in the building's design, with the color of the bricks growing lighter as the building rises, passing through 19 different shades.

In addition to its office space, the building houses classrooms, shops, equipment storage facilities, a cafeteria, a gym, and an auditorium. There are also 70 million feet of cable on the premises. 60 Hudson Street is now a colocation centre, meaning that equipment, bandwidth, and space are available to rent to consumers. Stylish apparel shops surround the property, as well as local hole-in-the-wall eateries and nearby Finn Square and Duane Park, both ideal spots for a bite to eat in the fresh air.
