Building Description

The five six-story brick buildings at 11-21 New Lots Avenue were raised in 1969, but in 2007 the New York City Housing Authority offered tax exempt loans for Omni New York to redevelop the Plaza Residences. In came fresh paint, new flooring, upgraded kitchen cabinets, new bathrooms, carbon and smoke detectors, and energy star appliances. Courtyards and parking lots have been repaved, the community room completely overhauled, and additional laundry centers created, along with many more upgrades. Security was also updated with an extensive security camera system and keyless entry.

The Plaza Residences is handy to neighborhood shops and restaurants, and the L train can be boarded five short blocks away at the New Lots Avenue station. The 3 and 4 trains also service this part of Brownsville. The B15, B35 and B60 bus lines are the most convenient to 11-21 New Lots Avenue, but additional lines spread out all around the Brooklyn property. The Plaza Residences is well-located for public schools like P.S. 184, I.S. 518 and Brooklyn Democracy Academy, as well as private institutions such as Leadership Prep Brownsville Charter, and Cultural Academy ? Spring Creek.
