Building Description

This early project of the New York City Housing Authority at 845 Stanley Avenue came online in 1951. The Boulevard Houses include 18 brick apartment towers, some six stories high and some 14 stories. Many of the buildings feature all-access ramps, and the towers are arranged around central courtyards with plenty of lawn space. Benches are scattered throughout the property, and in 2016, the grounds were outfitted with new LED lights. The Jerome Playground is across Wortman Avenue, and Linden Park is two blocks away.

The 1,436 Brooklyn apartments here are close to services and shopping, with big box retailers and national chain restaurants a short walk from 845 Stanley Avenue. P.S. 273 adjoins the property, with Van Siclen Community Middle School also zoned for the Boulevard Houses. The closest subway station connects to the 3 and 4 trains less than half a mile away at Ashford Street and Livonia Avenue, with the L train also close by. Bus service is excellent with nearby lines including the B6, B83, B84, B20, and BM5.
