Building Description

Residential developer Arun Bhatia has shepherded over 20 residential building projects as sole principal in New York City since 1979. For the 1988-built The Strand his design dictates to architect Costas Kondylis were to make every unit seem like a corner apartment. Kondylis responded with a diamond-shaped tower that sits catty-corner to the intersection at 500 West 43rd Street. The Strand thus delivers one-of-a-kind Midtown Manhattan views from its 311 units. At ground level, tumbling waterfalls and manicured gardens at the entrance hint at the luxurious indoors, with full-time doorman service.

Each floor has a laundry facility, while the 42nd floor is given over entirely to the building's sky-top club. Other shared spaces at 500 West 43rd Street include a lap pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, and on-site parking. The Hell's Kitchen condo building is just a short walk from the entertainment possibilities of Times Square and the recreational facilities of the Hudson River Greenway. Pier 84's dog park is within easy reach as well.
