Building Description

One of four buildings on Central Park West to boast a double residential tower, the El Dorado was built in 1931 by architect Emery Roth. It is 29 stories tall and contains 208 residential co-op units. The El Dorado is one of the most visually-appealing sites in all of New York City because when the towers are lit, they resemble enormous candles in the night sky. Most apartments boast impressive views of either Central Park, the Manhattan skyline, or the Reservoir.

Cats and dogs are allowed and the building features an elevator and a full-time doorman service. Other modern amenities including a bike room, available community recreation facilities, a gym, a live-in super, a children's playroom, and a concierge service. The El Dorado is literally across the street from Central Park and from the Metropolitan Montessori School. It is part of the Upper West Side-Central Park West Historic District.
