Building Description

Legendary architect Cass Gilbert designed one of New York City's first residential towers in 1907 at 87 West Street. Gilbert gave the 24-story apartment building one of the city's most effusive Gothic-style facades with gargoyles and tracery. Inside, sixteen-foot ceilings are the norm in the 410 pre-war units. Now lovingly restored, modern touches include bamboo plank floors, open floor plans, and oversized windows.
