Building Description

Samuel J. Kessler started his property development career in New York City in the early 1900s, building S.J. Kessler and Sons into a successful multigenerational company. The Kesslers set their sights on Harlem in the post-war period, developing Lenox Terrace in the late '50s on the superblock between West 132nd and West 135th Street and Malcolm X and 5th Avenues. The six-building apartment complex consists of 16-story towers with 286 units each, including 45 West 132 Street. Liberally landscaped with private parks, Lennox Terrace also features 24-hour security, full-time doorman service, and onsite parking.

The custom kitchens at Lenox Square have recently been upgraded with high-end appliances, and all units feature hardwood floors and individual climate control. Laundry facilities are sited in each of the six buildings, and the M7, M1, and M102 buses stop only steps away. The 2 and 3 trains are also convenient, with the Lenox Avenue and 135th Street station also just steps from the property. Part of School District 5, 45 West 132 Street is zoned for P.S./I.S. 275, with P.S./I.S. 175 and Thurgood Marshall Academy also close by.
