Building Description

20 West St is located in the Financial District of Manhattan and is known as The Downtown Club. Built in 1930, the building has 45 stories and is a residential and retail condominium building. One of Manhattan's most distinctive skyscrapers, the building was designed in the Art Deco style. Architects Starrett & Van Vleck designed 20 West Street as well as other notable New York City department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.

In 2009, the Downtown Club was added to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. The condominiums in The Downtown Club all have updated appliances and several floor plans are available, from studio apartments to three bedroom apartments, and select units have outdoor terraces. The Downtown Club has 24-hour concierge service and six days a week select services such as dry cleaning, maid service and tailoring can be arranged. The Downtown Club is a mere 382 feet away from the nearest subway station that offers access to the 1 and N-R lines at Rector Street. The Battery Park City School is literally across the street.
