New Business and Retail Interactive Map for Manhattan. Brooklyn next.

As first reported by The Real Deal, PropertyShark has launched a while back a new business and retail mapping tool covering New York City. Currently, our map covers all Manhattan’s businesses and retail stores  and will soon provide those interested with a fast visual grasp of NYC’s entire business landscape.

If before, brokers and real estate investors had to do their own wandering and digging in order to find out the commercial tenants of a particular building, or how an area looks like for their business client, with this tool we’re hoping to help those interested save serious time and effort in this sense.

A quick zoom on the interested region will give you a close-up of all businesses and retail stores in that area, while a mini-report will pop up on your left when clicking on a particular property. The interactive map is updated weekly to ensure data accuracy, while the report delivers in-depth relevant property information such as size, ownership, and permits.

We are currently working on extending the coverage to certain neighborhoods in Brooklyn and so far we have Downtown Brooklyn — NYC’s third largest business district — and parts of Carroll Gardens and Williamsburg under the belt. With Dumbo making it into the top-10 of NYC’s most expensive neighborhoods in the first quarter of 2012, see its retail landscape below:
