Building Description

The Candler Building was Asa Candler's NYC monument to the success of Coca-Cola. The NYC Candler Building followed the construction of buildings with the same name in Atlanta, Baltimore and Kansas City. The New York City real estate development was completed around 1913. It was designated a historic landmark in 1982. The Times Square Theatre District location of this office building places it in close proximity to other notable towers including the Paramount Building, the Conde Nast Building, and the Reuters Building.

The property found at 221 W 41 St. was famously included in the Superman film of 1978. It is in the heart of Manhattan, about half way between Madison Square Garden and The Rockefeller Center (north to south), and halfway between the Signature Theatre Company and the Chrysler Building (east to west). Shopping, quick bites and entertainment are densely represented in one of the city's busiest areas. It's close to the 42nd St. station for subway lines 1, 2, and 3, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal for lines A, C, and E.
