The architectural firm of Clinton Russell Wells Holton & George liberally decorated the irregular facade with Masonic symbols and biblical references. The Masons lost the mortgage to 253 West 73rd Street during the Great Depression and for 50 years the building was variously used as a hotel and drug rehabilitation center before emerging in 1984 as a luxury condominium under the name Level Club.
