Building Description

Inspired by the Devonshire House in Piccadilly, London, architect Emery Roth created the Greenwich Village Devonshire House. This pre-war residential and commercial condominium was completed in 1928 and presently stands near NYU and the Empire State Building. Its facade features Moorish masonry with classic Italian and English details. Inside, tenants enjoy the convenience of a 24-hour doorman, bike room, in-building laundry, and a common recreation center. For staying in, the lush roof top terrace is a nice getaway.

Situated along one of Greenwich Village's tree-lined streets, Devonshire House tenants enjoy a more verdant living experience, especially with Washington Square Park located nearby. Plus, the Greenwich Village community is still considered a haven for artists and writers. In addition to the many subway lines passing through the area, on the yellow, orange and blue lines, other conveniences include shoe repair, beauty salons, and dry cleaners. PS 041 and, a little further away, JHS 104 Simon Baruch are the local zoned schools, and shopping includes Paramus Park, Pik Records, and Curt Marcus Gallery.
