The Walker Tower, designed by Ralph Thomas Walker, was originally built as a commercial structure with a brick facade. This Art Deco Skyscraper was built before height restrictions were enacted, so The Walker Tower stands tall in the New York skyline. Construction ended in 1929 and The New York Times heralded its designer "architect of the century." Since, The Walker Tower has been converted to high-end condominium homes.
