Building Description

The Walker Tower, designed by Ralph Thomas Walker, was originally built as a commercial structure with a brick facade. This Art Deco Skyscraper was built before height restrictions were enacted, so The Walker Tower stands tall in the New York skyline. Construction ended in 1929 and The New York Times heralded its designer "architect of the century." Since, The Walker Tower has been converted to high-end condominium homes. The privacy afforded by the extra thick walls and floors is a plus for celebrities. Amenities include: children's playroom, a library, a lounge with pantry and bar, a fitness center, yoga room, sauna, a landscaped common roof deck, a covered cabana, concierge, and a 24-hour doorman among many more services.

Situated in Chelsea in a very walkable area, The Walker Tower is also close to two subway lines - the 1-2 line on 7th Avenue and the A-C-E line on 8th.
