Colorado, a state brimming with vivid landscapes and breathtaking vistas, is also a state chock-full of luxurious properties. There’s no secret here, Colorado’s real estate market is one for the books – and Freddie Mac agrees. A recent report by the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ranked the Centennial State as one of the top housing markets in the country.
This is despite the fact that resort sales dipped in 2016 due to election jitters, especially in the luxury sector of the market. And while Colorado’s resort real estate market is still well below its 2007 peak and tight inventory will prevent the same sales levels to be reached in the near future, prices, at least in some areas like the Vail Valley, are rebounding to pre-crash levels. According to LIV Sotheby’s International, Colorado’s luxury real estate market is on the rise, with Metro Denver’s total dollar volume sales surging 18.7 percent and Summit County up 11.6 percent from the year ago figure.
