Note: On January 8th, 2018, the article was updated to include three more home sales recorded in 2017. As a result, the top 10 was modified to reflect the updated ranking.

In 2017, the largest luxury home sale recorded in the Hamptons was nowhere near the record of $70,000,000 set in 2016 by the property at 199 Lily Pond Lane. However, according to a recent quarterly report released by Douglas Elliman, the listing inventory for luxury homes in the Hamptons was up 22% at the end of Q3 2017.

This year, the first on our list of most expensive home sales in the Hamptons is this charming two-story home at 328 Gin Lane, which sold for $31,000,000. The 2,410-square-foot home comes with spectacular ocean views, a tennis court, and a private beach.

The second most expensive sale of 2017 closed for $29,000,000. Located at 211 Lily Pond Lane, the landmark home was designed and built in 1920 by John Custis Lawrence. Situated straight on the Georgica Beach, the 10,000-square-foot home served as a summer house for Hillary and Bill Clinton in 2011 and 2012.

Rounding out our top three is the property at 7 Olde Towne Lane, which sold for $26,000,000. The custom-designed home is the work of John Kean of Kean Development Co., and comes equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including a billiard room, a wine room, a theater and a swimming pool with an oversized spa.

The other properties that made the 2017 top home sales list are located mainly in Southampton, with East Hampton also appearing on our list. One of the most spectacular homes in our 2017 ranking is the one at 1285 Flying Point. The 3,490-square-foot home was designed by Steven Harris Architects and Rees Roberts and Partners, and features a unique grotto right underneath the swimming pool, providing aquarium-like views of those swimming inside it.
