6. Hunters Point
Units Sold: 32
Median sale price: $585,000
Citylights remains the most praised Queens co-op in Long Island City. Spectacular views and being a pet-friendly building continue to make this a highly desirable community to live in. This is certainly reflected in the higher median sales price of $585,000.
5. Kew Gardens Hills
Units Sold: 43
Median sale price: $176,300
NYC real estate doesn’t come much cheaper than this! While not all the online reviews of Dara Gardens are positive, units start at just $175,000 for gated community living.
4. Bay Terrace
Units Sold: 44
Median sale price: $505,000
Spread over 13 acres of park land with pink blossoming trees, and with a heated indoor-outdoor Olympic-sized pool, the Bay Condo Club offers Queens residents a wealth of living without ever having to leave the community. The median sale price over the last 12 months comes in at $505k.
3. Elmhurst
Units Sold: 48
Median sale price: $386,000
Originally built in the early 60s, The Continental Park underwent a complete renovation just 2 years ago. This Queens co-op now presents itself as one of the most modern and attractive on this list, although the median sale price remains a deceptively inexpensive $386,000. The Continental’s classy units with private terraces are clearly a hit with savvy NYC buyers.
2. The Aston, Forest Hills
Units Sold: 89
Median sale price: $845,000
The Aston could easily become known as one of the most successful buildings in Queens. The brand new 16-story luxury condo tower is a back-to-the-future blend of modern Art Deco design with echoes of the glamorous days of the 1920s. Its architect describes his work as “The Great Gatsby comes to Queens again.” Sales have been fast and furious, and resales could rocket well beyond the current median price of $845,000.
1. Glen Oaks
Units Sold: 112
Median sale price: $610,000
While its units are less pricey than those in The Aston, North Shore Towers certainly claims the crown for most units sold in the last 12 months – by a long way. The North Shore Towers complex is a fortress, combined of three 34-floor buildings, with its own electricity supply, 22-unit retail shopping center, golf course, and its own zip code. However, buying here is only possible via a rigorous interview and screening process with the board.
