Zoom In: Which NYC Borough Has Seen the Most Crimes in the Last Month?

Whether you’re planning to buy a house or invest in one, you’re probably ready to put in as much time in doing research on the property as you are in learning about the area. To help you decide if it’s safe enough to build or buy in a certain area, we’re inviting you to check out our monthly-updated Crime Map, which tracks some of the most serious felonies: murder, felony assault, burglary, robbery, grand larceny and grand larceny of vehicles.

As you can see from the map, more crimes happened in Manhattan than in any other borough. Thefts are the most common type of felony, especially for the more upscale neighborhoods, while robberies and felony assaults are the most common in developing areas such as Harlem.

While the map does not display exact locations of crime, the little icons are still a good indicator of their density in a certain area. Just look up your property of interest on the map by clicking on the Property Search button in the upper left corner and zoom in until you can see the crime icons surrounding it:
