The Kardashians and the Trumps Top PropertyShark’s Searches by Property Owner

BY Roxana Baiceanu | Jul 27, 2012

Celebrities and the real estate sector usually make quite a hot pair. How hot? It depends if you are on the East Coast or West Coast, and if you prefer Hollywood to the business world.

At PropertyShark we were quite curious to see what names most people were running owner searches for, and the results show quite a discrepancy between the two coasts: Hollywood celebs made up most owner searches for the West Coast, while the East Coast seemed to be after more serious business, as people looked up property landlords mainly.

Kim Kardashian

And the names that got to Number 1 are…

West Coast #1 Folks are definitely keeping up with the Kardashians, as their names appeared as the top owner search for the entire West Coast in 2011. Interest might have been  sparked by Kim K’s purchase of this 4.8 million Beverly Hills home in 2010, which she traded not too long ago for this $40K/month mansion rental.

And when one of the most searched for persons on PropertyShark matches the most searched for person on Google for 2011, our sense of accomplishment moves up one level.

The Trump World Tower

East Coast #1  The Trumps head the list here – and they’re not doing too badly elsewhere either. With a portfolio boasting 13 prominent properties in New York alone — The Trump World Tower being one of the most renowned– real estate tycoon Donald Trump has more than one reason to be the most searched property owner on the East Coast and #3 on the West Coast .

Plus, he also placed #14 on Forbes Celebrity 100 list.

We’re betting that most of the other names making up our West-Coast top-10 are going to ring some bells: Steve Jobs, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Aniston, LA Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant, and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Top searches for the East Coast include well-known (at least for the real estate people) NYC landlords like Steven Croman, Croman Realty CEO and owner of around 100 smaller properties in the East Side NYC, and Richard Parkoff, landlord of the glamorous property at 794 Madison Ave, among many others in the Upper East Side and Washington Heights.

Here’s the full list of most searched property owners :
